Playing a meaningful role shaping public policy for a just and inclusive society.
Life in public service
My first involvement in politics and public service occurred at when I joined the campaign of a candidate for local county legislator at fifteen years-old. And when I say "joined the campaign," I mean passed out flyers and got called a cute kid.
It fueled my drive to stay involved. I worked in local campaigns in field and finance hoping to get the best people elected for my community, including female candidates who paved the way for more women to run for office. Working for my family’s irrigation business during the summer and tutoring during the school year financed my unpaid hobby.
Local politics is not sexy, but it remains undeniably important. The institutions and municipalities which really make a difference in our communities tend to be those closest to home. I served as the Communications Director for Rep. Kevin Honan, the Dean of the House and Chair of the Committee on Steering and Policy in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from February 2022 - August 2023. I gained valuable experience in communications, policy, constituent services and developed my understanding of how governments operate by seeing it happen up close. It was a joy to work for such an extraordinary public servant and be a part of communities as vibrant and diverse as Allston-Brighton and Brookline.
We need more young people to get directly involved the political process, which is why I remain committed to doing my part in public service and being a part of that change.

Cool Story
While preparing for the start of the 193rd Session of the Massachusetts General Court, I had the honor to sit down with Climate Envoy and former Secretary of State John Kerry. We chatted about his love for his home neighborhood of Beacon Hill and I reminded him about upcoming changes to the 2024 presidential primary system. He told me that no matter how much you know, you simply can’t remember everything.
